Maybe we will do another soon…

My Sweetest High: It took a long time to think of how to be ‘creative’ for your competition whilst incorporating Sweetest High. I could have gone down the obvious route of singing, dancing or making a fool of myself to catch your attention, but I decided I’d rather tell you in my own words how the summer song of the year, Sweetest High, with only a month of release has already provided me with amazing memories that will be with me forever. Last week I got back from a family holiday in Spain, being 17, I was in one of those “family holidays are boring” kind of moods, yet it turned out to be the best one yet. My best friend and I met some amazing people out there, and with a 4 way language barrier the way to break the ice was through music. Although they spoke little English, we tried our hardest to discover music that our Norwegian, Spanish and German friends would know. We soon learnt much to our surprise they all knew and loved Girls Aloud! (Goes to show how many worldwide fans you girls have!). After some discussions on our favourite songs, the conversation soon changed to you! Sitting around the pool with the sun shining, we were soon to mention your current worldwide domination! The faint sound of ‘dun dun dun’ started to play, the beat kicked and by the chorus they were all thoroughly enjoying it, smiling and bobbing their heads along to the infectious summer anthem. The setting of the pool side and summery atmosphere fitted ‘Sweetest High’ perfectly. After that, there was various moments where we played ‘Sweetest High’ often dancing and singing pretending to be you along the beach, listening to it through headphones when we went 2 hours in the wrong direction from the airport, (thank goodness you released an album to cure my boredom!) filming our own take on a video for Sweetest High on the golf course at 2am, and the last night having a party with everybody on the roof tops of La Manga listening to your music. We even had a cheeky look at your Fire Island performance whilst on a computer in a supermarket! Drastic measures I know, but it was the only place there was WiFi.. and I couldn’t miss out ;’) I’m sure you’ve been on many holidays where there is a certain song that will always remind you of that summer. Now when I listen to Sweetest High it will always remind me of meeting new friends through the love of your music, treasured moments and just constant fun times in the sun! Thank you for creating such a phenomenal track that you can have SO much fun with!

Perspex floor, baby oil & Mosquitos.(fire island)
So my first performance of sweetest high was on fire island. That is a place worth seeing.
Beautiful beaches and scenery. Who knew such a tropical place existed so close to the big city that is New York.
I briefly went on the stage before anyone got there to sound check and check it out. I had been at the pavilion before so i saw how hot and busy it gets in there but i didn’t think about it hard enough. I was too distracted with the sound and still getting makeup done and laughing at the ridiculousness of the heel and the length of the boots I was wearing. Although later in the night the boots became mosquito protectors which i was quite grateful for.
We had been on fire island to see Vito a few weeks before to meet everyone and have a good time. This was before sweetest high had even begun its process. I said to friends there I would love to do a performance. Then a few people spoke to a few peoples people and I got booked to do one.
When I stepped into the centre of the stage I saw the Perspex again but didn’t factor in the condensation and the oils and things gathering turning the centre of the stage into an oily ice rink with the heat from all the people.
Thankfully I didn’t hit the deck. I totally excepted too.
Everything went pretty much to plan aside from that.
The weekend was superb and the mosquitos were repelled. Thanks fire island boots and a choker as a hat.
Welcome to my blog.
Hi there, this is our little area for me to share longer stories on things that have happened throughout the day or week or in general to discuss in depth things as we go.
Please go to the ask Nadine section and I will answer as many of your questions as I can.
I would like to say a massive thank you to those of you that have offered love and support throughout the 10 years since I started singing professionally and before that.
All those early morning and late nights we met at tv studios and venues. I remember you all and the sacrifices you made to be there and show your love.
To our new friends that have joined us, I look forward to a long relationship as I have had with many of our other friends.
I hear a lot of great friendships have been made via fan networks and i hope this continues.
Loads and loads of love..
